Tatyana never thought she would become addicted. At 29, she was active, sociable, had a good job in an advertising agency and a wide circle of friends.Alcohol was a part of her life - a glass of wine after work, a cocktail at a party, champagne at a celebration. No one saw a problem with it. Not even Tatyana herself.

An unnoticed beginning

"At first it was just a way to relax. After a hard day - a little wine. On weekends - more. Then I realized that without alcohol I was bored, anxious, hard. It was a wake-up call, but I ignored it," Tatyana recalls.

Over time, the need grew stronger. Alcohol became a mandatory part of every evening. Tatyana began to wake up tired, skip workouts, lose interest in work. Soon, she was no longer limited to a glass. Secret drinks at home appeared, without company. “I hid how much I drank. From myself,” she admits.

Collapse

The turning point was the day Tatyana was fired. Lateness, irritability, decreased productivity - all of this was a consequence of her addiction. She was in shock, because just recently she had thought she was successful and in control of herlife .

"I realized I was losing everything. And yet I still thought I was just going a little overboard. It wasn't until my friends started turning away and my parents stopped calling every day that I realized I was an alcoholic."

The first step to freedom

The hardest part was admitting the problem. Tatyana turned to a narcologist, signed up for a consultation with a psychotherapist and started attending support groups. The first weeks were hell - physical withdrawal, insomnia, panic. But along with this camefeeling that she is no longer alone in this struggle.

With the help of experts and people who have also gone throughaddiction , Tatyana began to recover step by step. She kept a diary, learned to recognize her triggers and replace drinking with healthy habits - walks, sports , meditation. Started reading books about emotional maturity and addiction.

New life

Two years have passed. Today, Tatyana is sober, working in a new field - consulting others who have found themselves in a similar situation. She speaks openly about her addiction, is not ashamed of the past and believes that it is the path she has taken that has made her stronger.

"I didn't just stop drinking. I rebuilt myself. And if someone had told me then, in my darkest moment, that there would be light ahead, I wouldn't have believed it. But there was."

Conclusion

Tatiana's story is no exception.Addiction can overtake anyone. But there is a way out for everyone. It is important not to remain silent, not to be afraid to ask for help and to remember: life without alcohol is possible, real and can be even brighter than before.
